LITERACY MATTERS TO KIDS, THE FUTURE, AND ALL OF US!
The Literacy Matters Foundation 501 (c)(3) is a team of teachers, content experts, technology gurus and strategist who help students master literacy. By building educational software based on proven pedagogic techniques, we bring personalized reading and writing instruction to empower emerging readers.
Literacy is a critical component for all emerging learners, allowing them to thrive.
Our mission is to leverage the best technology and proven curriculum to empower young learners (K-3) with the basic reading skills needed to close the literacy gap.
BECAUSE NOTHING MATTERS MORE
ONLY 39% OF MINNEAPOLIS STUDENTS and ONLY 35% OF ST. PAUL STUDENTS read proficiently by the end of third grade3
In Minnesota, the gap between students who read well and those who do not is among the highest in the nation.3 The literacy gaps between low-income and high-income students, and between white students and the students of color in Minnesota are vast. These early gaps lead to compounding achievement disparities.

INTRODUCING MONKEY DOODLE™ LEARNING PROGRAM
The Monkey Doodle™ learning program uses artificial intelligence, (AI) technology, research-based curriculum and follows the Orton-Gillingham (OG) instructional approach. The Monkey Doodle learning program provides engaging, kid-friendly literacy instruction and assesses a student’s learning advancement in real time. By understanding students’ individual differences and progress, they receive personalized instruction, which improves outcomes.
EARLY DETECTION & ANALYTICS
Powered by IBM Watson’s Cognitive Intelligence, built-in metrics monitor student progress while they read and adapt curricula to meet emerging needs. Our program features real-time tracking and progress of individual students. We flag potential learning disabilities, allowing for appropriate RTI/early intervention. Information collected by the program is delivered to a dashboard that provides daily reports and measurable outcomes for teachers, administrators and parents.
Monkey Doodle delivers engaging reading instruction and actionable analytics, all at a fraction of 1:1 student/teacher instruction costs.
